The Agile PMO Approach

The Agile PMO Approach is used to manage programs and projects that are more iterative and incremental. This approach increases accountability across teams while providing optimal client service and holistic solutions for the duration of the software development lifecycle.

The Agile PMO Approach follows many of the principles of the “Project Management Body of Knowledge,” integrating various software development methodologies and techniques. The result is a comprehensive client service experience that manages a client’s satisfaction and expectations; fulfills requirements and implements designs that address organizational needs; and, ensures the project is completed by the client’s definition.

THE AGILE PMO

Task Order Award

The task order award phase consists of the actual award of the approved work to be performed. During this phase, the team collectively reviews the task order and deliverables schedule for questions, concerns, risks, internal and external dependencies and constraints that may affect the execution and delivery of work.

Requirements Gathering

This phase includes developing a requirements list and or matrix that will be reviewed with the client to ensure all elements are properly captured, so that participants may prepare for the development of the integrated master schedule (IMS).

Release Planning

During this phase, requirements are organized and prioritized. Team members estimate the completion time and level of effort needed for IMS development.

IMS Development

This phase consists of developing an IMS that includes all approved scope and planning efforts from the task order within the period of performance. The IMS should act as a comprehensive, client-approved plan for the team.

Development

In the development phase, Ardent professionals work with the client to ensure product development efforts are in alignment with equirements, and ultimately, the task order. Demonstrations are held as requested by the client or required by the task order.

Testing

During the testing phase, Ardent’s testers work to ensure functionality is properly configured and working, while also identifying bugs and fixes that may need to be tracked, managed and addressed.

Deployment and Implementation

During this phase, the team works with the client to ensure the deployment and implementation of all planned functionality is properly documented and performed with in schedule.

Operations and Maintenance

In this phase, systems are properly maintained and upgraded as needed in an effort to keep operations fully functioning once the project has been executed.

Project Closeout

For the final phase, the Ardent team meets with the client to transition the project, capture lessons learned, and close out contractual obligations.
